The British Informatics Olympiad is the computing competition for schools and colleges. We are proud to present BIO 2007, sponsored by Lionhead Studios.
The 2007 British Informatics Olympiad Final

The 2007 British Informatics Olympiad final took place at Trinity College, Cambridge, from 30 March - 1 April.

The competition consisted of three stages.

On the evening of Friday 30th, students were helped to get working with their compilers with a practice programming question (not graded).

On the morning of Saturday 31st, two written questions were set:

• Parsing (pdf) (1 hour 15 minutes) - structured question-and-answer task.
• Digital Rights Management (pdf) (45 minutes) - free essay question.

In the afternoon, students sat the following programming exercises:

• Paper Folding (pdf)
• Contests (pdf)
• Doohickey (pdf)
• Pigeon Identification Nuances (pdf)

Languages available were C/C++, Delphi and Visual Bsic. Students were advised, at the start of the programming session, that they did not need to attempt all of the questions.
