The 2014 British Informatics Olympiad final took place at Trinity College, Cambridge, from 4-6 April.
The competition consisted of three stages.
On the evening of Friday 4th, one written question was set:
On the morning of Saturday 5th, students were helped to get working with their compilers with a practice programming question (not graded).
During the afternoon, students sat the following programming exercises:
A followup question, which was not used during the contest, expands on one of the earlier problems
The language available was C/C++. Students were advised, at the start of the programming session, that they did not need to attempt all of the questions.
